העבודה מתארת מחקר המנתח 3 קב' אתניות של ישראלים משלושה תיכונים בירושלים בנוגע לעמדותיהם כלפי המריחואנה והשימוש בה. דרך שאלונים שחולקו ל-20 סטודנטים מכל קבוצה אתנית: רוסים, אתיופים וישראלים ותיקים, נעשה ניסיון להבחין בשוני אם קיים בנוגע לעמדותיהם כלפי המריחואנה הנובע ממוצאם השונה. האבחנה העיקרית הייתה האם המריחואנה צריכה להיות חוקית בישראל.
הסטודנטים יחולקו לשתי קטגוריות עיקריות האחת מוצאם האתני והשנייה הפופולאריות לה הם זוכים כשכל משתנה יופיע במשתנה בלתי תלוי במחקר. המחקר ינסה להוכיח כי קיים קשר בין ארץ המוצא והפופולאריות לה זוכה הסטודנט לבין עמדותיו כלפי המריחואנה והשימוש בה. מוצא המריחואנה:
השוואה בין עמדות תלמידים שמוצאם ממדינות שונות, ביחס למריחואנה והשימוש בה.  תקציר העבודה:                                                                                         :Paper abstract This paper describes a research that analyzes three different ethnic groups of Israeli students from three different high schools in Jerusalem regarding their attitude towards the drug called "marijuana" which is still an illegal substance in Israel.     Through questionnaires handed out to 20 students from the three ethnic groups: Russian, Ethiopian and veteran Israeli students in an attempt to differentiate those three groups and establish or disprove a connection between the ethnic student group and its attitude towards the marijuana. The main issue of those opinions as reflected in the questionnaires will be whether or not those students think that marijuana should become a legal substance in Israel. The determination of the students' level of opinion on the matter will be divided into two main subsections: 1. the student's country of origin. 2. The student's popularity.
The student's country of origin is determined by the student's own answer on this subject, the popularity from questions regarding the student's background and the relationship with friends and parents. The ethnic groups in question also have some influence on the students' popularity. However since there has been only a minor progress in the mixed ethnic relationships in Israel, the popularity aspect will be viewed on every student by his own ethnic group with a small amount of consideration to the student ethnic group involving the veteran students.               This paper will try to show that there is a connection between the student's ethnic origin and his popularity and the student's point of view regarding marijuana, the use of marijuana and whether or not it should become legal in Israel.  The conclusions show that there is a valid connection between the student's ethnic origin and popularity and he's opinion towards marijuana. Further more the paper shows that as more popular the student is, the more permissive his opinion will be towards the use of marijuana.
