תקציר –  תהליך אובדן זכרון טראומות קולקטיביות (עבודה באנגלית) Summary – Repression, oppression and silence: How cultural traumas are lost in collective memory This assignment concerns alterations in collective memory and examines the different ways with which they come to be, in the context of cultural trauma –  which is especially inclined to be distorted, suppressed or avoided altogether. The paper will focus mainly upon understanding collective memory, cultural trauma and their relatedness, as well as analysing repression, suppression and silence as selected methods of revising history and past cultural trauma.
For this purpose I will use various articles and books concerning the very subject of this paper, as well as presenting their main arguments with are mostly in accordance to Jeffrey Alexander’s theory of cultural trauma.
עבודה זו מתמקדת בנסיון להבין את אופן השתנות הזכרון הקולקטיבי (זכרונה של חברה) לאורך הזמן, בעיקר בהקשר של טראומה תרבותית – שהיא הפגיעה במיוחד לשינויים בזכרון. העבודה תתמקד בהדחקה, דיכוי ושתיקה כאמצעים העיקריים בהם אנו משתמשים על מנת "לשנות את ההיסטוריה" בזכרוננו ולעצב מחדש טראומות קולקטיביות שהופיעו בעברנו.
העבודה מתבססת על סקירת ספרות באנגלית וכוללת מבוא, סקירת ספרות, דיון ומסקנות ורשימה ביבליוגרפית (סה"כ 10 עמודים + 2 עמודים של רשימת מקורות). העבודה קיבלה ציון 92.
